April RUX meeting-

“User Research on a Shoestring: Knowing Your Users Without Spending a Bundle”

How can you design applications and Web sites if you don’t know who your users are? But what if you don’t have tons of time and heaps of money? Join Web Application Developer Erin White from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Library (VCUL). She will talk about their experience with Usabilla, the CrazyEgg heatmapping software they’re using at VCUL, their mini-feedback methods, and the guerilla tests they’ve run with our users. Also, Tom Illmensee from SnagAJob.com will share some experiences with keeping costs down.

In conjunction with her talk, Rosenfeld Media is giving a way a copy of Nate Bolt & Tony Tulathimutte’s book, Remote Research: Real Users, Real Time, Real Research (http://www.rosenfeldmedia.com/books/remote-research/). Some lucky person will win the book as well as an accompanying PDF version. All attendees will also receive the PDF version of the book.

When? Wednesday, April 28, 2010
6-7:30 pm

Where? Snagajob
4880 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA
